:: ABOUT HAZARIBAG ::
Hazaribag is a quaint, small, verdant city in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is famous as a health resort and for Hazaribag National Park (17 km from city). Recently it has also come to limelight due to its pre-Historic and Historic sites of Ancient period and a possibility of the existence of a continuous civilization and culture of its own. Its Megaliths, cave paintings, the world famous equinox site at Pakri Barwadih and Biodiversity make it a place worth visiting. Its proximity to Bodh Gaya, Itkhori, Rajrappa and Parasnath make it a significant attraction for Hindu, Buddhist and Jain pilgrims the world over. However, etymologically, the word 'Hazaribag' is made of two Persian words - Hazar meaning 'one thousand' (1,000) and Bag meaning 'garden'. Hence, the literal meaning of 'Hazaribag' is 'City of a Thousand Gardens'. Another legend suggests that place was a roaming ground of one thousand tigers; in Hindi Bagh, and hence the name 'Hazaribag'
:: HOW TO REACH HAZARIBAG ::
Hazaribag is accessible by road, located at a distance of 90 km from Ranchi and 60 km from Koderma, on Ranchi-Patna Highway (NH 33). Ranchi is connected to Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Patna by air.The railheads are at Ranchi, Barkakana and Koderma. Koderma is situated on the Howrah-Delhi train route via Gaya and most of the major trains have a stoppage here. Ranchi too is connected to Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata by train. Hazaribag is at a distance of 30 km from NH 2 (G.T. Road). We will be there at all railheads and Ranchi airport to make your arrival at Hazaribag convenient and comfortable.
CLIMATE: The town usually offers wonderful ambience in the third week of March and the temperature ranges from 27°C maximum to 15°C minimum on the average. Evenings and Mornings are very pleasant and the sky is mostly clear in the month of March.
